How to Sign Up to Become a Member
General Memberships
General memberships can be purchased online, in-person or by giving us a call at 804-816-2350 during business hours.
Resident Instructor Memberships
Resident Instructor Memberships must be completed in person at Sound Hall Studios — so we can verify experience and you can complete the required background check process respectively.

How Studio Booking Works for Members
As a Sound Hall Studios member, you have priority access to studio reservations through our online membership portal — up to two months in advance. Booking your studio time is simple and can be done at any time from anywhere.
1. Reserve Your Studio
Log in to your member portal and select your preferred studio, date, and time. You will be asked to confirm your credit card on file. If your booking is within 24-hours your card will be charged immediately for your booking. If it’s beyond 24-hours, your card will not be charged until 24-hours before your booking.
2. Check In to Your Studio
We recommend you arrive 15-minutes before your studio time. When you arrive at Sound Hall Studios, check in with our team. If there is a remaining balance you will be charged at check-in. They will escort you to your studio and take care of any special requests for your studio time.
Studio Cancellation Policy
Member studio reservations cancelled 24 hours or more in advance will not be charged. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will be charged at the member’s discounted rate. No-shows are charged at the full walk-in rate. For full details please review our Cancellation Policy.

Your account must remain in good standing to receive studio rental discounts and all membership incentives.
All memberships are month-to-month with no long-term commitment required.
Membership cancellations must be submitted in-person or by emailing us at least 10 days before your next monthly renewal date.
A valid credit card is required on file and will be charged automatically each month.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. All memberships are month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Cancel anytime with at least 10 days notice before your next renewal date. View our Cancellation Policy here.
How do I book a studio as a member?
Through our online membership portal — where you have priority access to reservations up to two months in advance. If the reservation for your studio is within a 24-hour window your card on file will be charged. If more then 24-hours before your studio booking, your card will not be charged until you hit within 24-hours of the booking. Walk-ins are also welcome based on availability.
Can I share my membership with someone else?
Individual memberships are non-transferable. To bring a guest, upgrade to Practice Pass+. For groups, check out our We Are Family membership.
Can I upgrade or change my membership tier?
Absolutely. Upgrades and downgrades take effect at your next renewal date. Just email us at info@soundhallstudios.com and we will take care of it.

We maintain a strict no-tolerance policy for alcohol, vaping, and any illicit substances on our premises — keeping our space clean, safe, and welcoming for musicians of all ages.
Background Check Required
All instructor membership applicants must complete a background check through Checkr prior to approval. A one-time $30 fee applies at registration. Sound Hall Studios reserves the right to approve or decline applications to ensure a reputable and trusted instructor community for our students and families.

As a Resident Instructor Member, your preferred studio day and time is guaranteed and held for you on a weekly basis — so you can build a consistent, reliable teaching schedule for you and your students. Studio time will be billed to your credit card on file bi-weekly.
Important Policy Details:
48-hour advance notice required to cancel reserved studio time — no exceptions. Failure to notify will result in a charge for that session. Last-minute emergencies handled on a case-by-case basis. Sound Hall Studios reserves the right to revoke this benefit if abused.
Instructor Membership FAQ
Do I keep 100% of my private lesson income?
Yes. Sound Hall Studios does not take any percentage of your lesson income. Your rates, your students, and your earnings are entirely yours.
Can I set my own teaching schedule?
Yes. You set your own schedule, rates, and manage your own students. Your guaranteed studio hold ensures your preferred day and time is reserved for you weekly.
What happens if I want to add more teaching hours?
Additional studio time is available beyond your guaranteed hold based on availability and billed at your 50% member discount rate. The more you teach, the greater your profit margin.
Can I host my own recital or event for my students?
Yes! The Hall is available for rental on Sundays for private recitals. Rental fees apply. Quarterly member recitals are also included in your membership at no additional cost.
